Letter to NY Lawmakers - June 2020

Landlords are Housing Providers Asking for Post-COVID Relief

May 27, 2020

We represent 1000’s of rental property owners, both members of our association and non-members, who have been adversely affected by state policy over the years, with the biggest blow in June of 2019 after passage of the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act (HSTPA). Now during COVID-19, we suffer greater loss, not because of the virus itself, but because of the unclear and unpredictable executive orders on the eviction moratorium and statewide calls for rent strikes. The following letter is being sent to state lawmakers in an effort to show our importance as an essential service and to appeal to common sense before passing more laws that will further damage the rental industry.
